Makeup and skincare brushes are not simple recyclable products.
They are made of:
• Mixed synthetic fibres
• Metal ferrules
• Coated wooden or plastic handles
• Adhesives and composite materials
These components are bonded together, making them difficult and often too expensive to recycle through standard municipal systems.While a few organizations offer limited beauty collection programs, brush recycling specifically remains complex and economically unfeasible at scale.
As an example, The Waste Problem in Ontario
Let’s look at the numbers.
• Ontario population: ~15 million
• Estimated makeup users (approx. 60%): ~9 million
• Average brush replacement cycle: every 1–2 years
• Estimated brushes per user: 5–15

Conservative estimate:
If just 5 million people replace 5 brushes per year, that equals:
• million brushes discarded annually in Ontario alone.
• Most end up in landfill.
• This is not easily recyclable waste.
• And this is where responsibility begins.

Why We Are Doing This
Brushes are not easily recyclable.
But they are reusable.
Instead of pretending beauty waste disappears — we choose to:
• Educate.
• Encourage responsibility.
• Support creative reuse.
• Reduce landfill contribution.
Sustainability is not perfection.
It is improvement.
Our Approach: Second Life Before Landfill
BS MALL™ Canada does not claim to recycle brushes industrially.
Instead, we promote a practical and responsible approach:
• Encourage longer use through education
• Promote proper cleaning & maintenance
• Support Second Life reuse initiatives
• Connect communities with creative reuse opportunities
• Offer discount to purchase BS Mall Brush, if prove recycle, reuse or donate for second life

Because while brushes may not be easily recyclable — they are reusable.
What Is the Sustainable Responsibility Program?
It is an educational and participation-based initiative designed to:
• Reduce unnecessary disposal
• Encourage creative reuse
• Support Canadian small workshops
• Promote environmental awareness in beauty

Participation is open to everyone — even if the old brush is not a BS MALL Canada Edition product.
This is about responsibility, not just reward.
BS MALL Canada and its exclusive brand partner CGB Services, do not claim to solve global waste overnight.
We commit to taking responsible steps transparently and collaboratively.

For Individuals
You Have 3 Ways to Participate
Option 1 – Drop Off in Beauty Waste Collection Box
Drop your old brush or beauty tool in any recognized beauty collection box in your community.
Submit proof and receive a reward code.
Option 2 – Donate for Second Life Production
Donate your used brushes or tools to any workshop or factory or schools or community activities that they will join the program as co-Brand.
These partners may:
• Use materials in art projects
• Repurpose components for craft
• Integrate materials into educational programs
• Use handles for detailed cleaning services
• Reuse fibers for gardening or creative applications

Here are realistic, usable secondary products:
Paint & Craft Mini Brushes (Most Practical)
After sanitizing and trimming:
• Acrylic paint brushes
• Model painting tools
• Nail art craft brushes
• Resin art detail tools
• Watercolor detailing tools

Workshops can:
• Cut handles shorter
• Reshape bristles
• Rebrand as “Upcycled Art Brush Series”

Old foundation brushes become:

Option 3 – Participate in a Community Workshop
Join a DIY or creative reuse workshop where waste beauty tools are transformed into art or functional items.
Workshops may be hosted by independent Canadian partners.

In this program, we are not pretending to recycle plastic.

Partners
We are seeking partners who:
• Already operate a workshop or production facility
• Are capable of independently collecting or receiving donated materials
• Can repurpose brush materials creatively or functionally
• Are willing to participate in environmental education initiatives

• Does not collect waste
• Does not transport waste
• Does not process waste
• Does not finance production

Co-Brand or selected partners operate independently.
